Skirt...

A big welcome to Lynn Jackson! Thanks for following my blog!

I so want some new skirts... and tops... oh and some cute jackets!!! OK... one at a time!

So I just finished drafting a pattern for a new skirt! I think that I'll use that rayon houndstooth fabric that I picked up at Walmart!

It's a cute skirt with a side zipper.

I may have to line it... um... we'll see.

(Lutterloh pattern 206, supplement #226)

Fabric bargain at Walmart

During our Billings, MT shopping trip yesterday... I stopped into the fabric section of Walmart.

Tucked onto one of the secondary isles I found just over 2 yards of a light weight houndstooth fabric in black & white.... I'm thinking maybe a skirt????

It was $1/yard!!!!

Are you using Lutterloh?

Where are you Lutterloh pattern users?

Let's connect our blogs so that we can help each other!!! Become a follower of my blog and I'll list your blog in my Lutterloh Bloggers list!

Way back in the early 90s a friend invited me to attend a sewing seminar in Peabody, MA. It sounded like a fun day... so off we went!

We learned about a pattern system that had been used for years in Europe. I learned that I could draft my own custom fitted patterns and never have to buy clothing patterns again!

In the 90s I made a bride's maid dress for a friend's wedding... skirts... shirts... then I'm not sure what happened...

I had a 2nd baby and all clothes sewing just stopped!

Then we moved into a tiny rental house for 6 years while building a new home (ourselves!). Sadly... there was NO room for sewing clothing! No room for drafting patterns... just NO ROOM for my sewing hobby!

Well our new home is almost finished! And... I've taken over part of the attic for a sewing room!

While unpacking I found my Lutterloh book... and drafting tools!

This blog will detail my journey back into my sewing hobby with Lutterloh!

NO Ease!

Oh my gosh... there is like NO ease built into this pattern!

I had to draft it a size up... and still too tight...

Shirt Sew-a-thon continues: Lutterloh 156 knit shirt from supplement #274

I'm drafting my own patterns with the Lutterloh system that I bought back in the 90s. I'm really just getting into it... and have a lot of learning to do!

So, I've been pouring over my lutterloh pattern pages trying to decide what to make to enhance my wardrobe (I really need some new clothes!!!).

Well, I found this cute knit shirt (see view on the right) with 3/4 sleeves and a scoop neck in supplement 274.

I had a Coldwater Creek knit shirt in this style... that I just loved! (Don't you love their clothes? Of course, I love them best ON SALE!) I honestly love all the clothes at Coldwater Creek! I have a bunch of their jackets that I wear constantly!

So I'm going to give this knit shirt it a try!

First I will draft the pattern using my measurements!
