It's coming today!

I've been waiting and waiting....

My new serger is "OUT TO BE DELIVERED" via UPS today!

Before Christmas I was surfing on OVERSTOCK.COM one of my favorite online shopping sites and saw this simple refurbished serger. It was $150 and FREE shipping... so I decided to go ahead and order one for myself.

My White Superlock 634D that I've had for over 10 years has go into the shop to be fixed. It's just NOT working right... : (

I just can't live without a serger and make clothes! I just can't!!!! Do you know what I mean?

So now... I wait... for my new Janome 11577 Heavy Duty Serger to arrive!

I found a treasure...

We decided to head out shopping with the boys today... which means... traveling from our itty bitty town to the big metropolis of Billings, Montana... an all day adventure full of Walmart... Costco... and ????

Well, on the way thru Bridger, MT, I decided to stop by Huff's Antique store.

I've been pining after 2 antique Singer sewing machines... The top of my list is much sought after Singer 221 Featherweight followed closely by the sew everything Singer 15-91!

I've been following these wonderful machines on ebay... drooling...

Well... there it was at Huff's... his ex-wife's mother's "quilting" machine.... a Singer 221 Featherweight! It's the cutest little machine! My first time to see one in real life!

This little machine was complete with box, attachments... even a buttonhole attachment! All in very nice condition!

My heart sank when I saw the price tag... $350!

But Mr. Huff said that he thought that his ex-wife would take $300.... OK... off to stroll around the store I went.... because I just didn't want to spend that much money! Not that it's not worth it, of course!

After looking around the store (I just love antique stores, don't you?) I went back and had him plug it in... and listened to it run. Sigh.... Gosh, it even has the original Singer 221 manual!

Then he said, I bet she would take $250 for it. Hmmmm....

I hemmed... and hawed... it's in such nice shape! OK!!! I put a deposit on it!!!!

I won!

I entered the 12 days of giveaways over at Power Sewing.com ... and I won! Yeah!!!! Thank you Sandra!

I'm on a Lutterloh pattern sewing adventure!!! Finished a skirt last night... took some pretty Christmas fabric and made up a bodice... attached a denim skirt to it.

I not really happy with my stuff yet! It's been so long since I've sewn clothes! So... I'll keep plugging along... and learning... and relearning!

I know... you need pictures!!!

My bodice isn't fitting quite right... I know... got to do that vest first!

Where is my dress form? I need it... it's still packed somewhere in this house!!!!
And a Serger... I need to either have my serger fixed or buy a new one!!!

I'm just putting together a sewing space in our new "still finishing" home...

I'm working with Lutterloh system for custom pattern making.

Back in the early 90's, I attended a sewing seminar in MA. That's where I learned about drafting my own patterns for clothes!

I used this system to create skirts, shirts, dresses... even a bride's maid dress for a friend's wedding.

Then I took about a 10 year break from sewing clothes!

Now... I'm back at it again... albeit... very rusty... but giving it a go!

If you're not familiar with Lutterloh, you can see how it works by watching this video.

I've subscribed to the annual supplements which are published each season. Which is so fun! I love to see the new fashions! You can see what supplement #275 contains by clicking here.

I'm working on this (#246) dress.
